I asked no other thing,

I asked no other thing,
No other was denied.
I offered Being for it;
The mighty merchant smiled.
Brazil? He twirled a button,
Without a glance my way:
“But, madam, is there nothing else
That we can show to-day?”
Sunset in Brazilian Red
I asked no other thing,
No other was denied.
I offered my Life for it;
The stout merchant smiled.
Brazilian Red? He twirled a button,
Without a glance my way:
“But, madam, is there nothing else
That we can show to-day?”
A conversation between a Merchant specializing in Red Color and his best Customer who ordered Brazilian Red, but received disappointingly a different Color. Of course, the Merchant is Sunset and his Customer is Emily.
* “Brazil” means Brazilian Red Color, though very expensive, to which Emily Adhered.
