I saw no Way ― The Heavens were stitched ―

I saw no Way ― The Heavens were stitched ―
I felt the Columns close ―
The Earth reversed her Hemispheres ―
I touched the Universe ―
And back it slid ― and I alone ―
A Speck upon a Ball ―
Went out upon Circumference ―
Beyond the Dip of Bell ―
Emily Dickinson
Desperate Isolation
I saw no Way ― The Heavens were stitched ―
I felt the close Columns―
The Earth was overturned ―
I touched the Universe ―
And it slid back― and I’m alone ―
A Speck upon a Ball ―
Was rolling over cyclically ―
Beyond the swing of Bell ―
Emily Dickinson
Emily received a cool review on her work. She was depressed and felt isolated. I think the poem is one of her masterpiece.
