Summer for thee, grant I may be

Summer for thee, grant I may be
When Summer days are flown!
Thy music still, when Whipporwill
And Oriole-are done!
For thee to bloom, I’ll skip the tomb
And row my blossoms o'er!
Pray gather me-
Anemone-
Thy flower-forevermore!
Emily Dickinson
Trivial riddle: Anemone
I may be grant your summer
When summer days are leaving!
Your quite music, when Whipporwill
And Oriole-are finished!
For you to bloom, I’ll skip the tomb
And quarrel with my daisies!
Pray pick up me-
Anemone-
Your flower is eternal
* Whipporwill and Oriole are active in summer.
* “my flower” is likely to be a daisy, common in the cemetery.
* Anemone is of Mediterranean origin, so hates hot summer: Summer flower in Autumn.
